GREAT NEWS FOR ALL BONSAI AND PENJING LOVERS !!! A new publication from China is now on sale here in the UK. A set of 2 books covering 46 countries has been pains-taking compiled by one of Chinas leading Penjing artists. The books enables us all to see trees from all over the world that have won gold medals. Each page is devoted to the creator with a photograph and details of the tree. Written in both Chinese and English it is a great opportunity to see these trees that otherwise would only be viewed at an exhibition. WORKSHOP DETAILS

Charlotte runs one to one workshops at the nursery. There is no criteria for participants, age or experience is not an issue. The simple requirement is that you have a open mind and want to learn something about bonsai. The main schools that are taught is the Lingnan School and Chinese Penjing. The object of the lesson is to give you an understanding of basic care and to introduce you to the many styles of bonsai and to show you how simple this art form is.

WORKSHOP TIMES AND COSTS

10am. - 1pm. = £55.

10am. - 3.30pm. =£75.

You will need to bring your tree to work on and any tools you have. What ever tree you have bring it, don't feel embarrassed about size or condition. If you don't have tools there will some you can use here but it better to have your own. Anything you decide to purchase while attending a workshop you will get a 10% discount. Its also a good idea to bring a camera to take before and after photos of your tree. The workshop is there to help you understand and gain an insight into this fascinating art form, it is fun and informal so don't be put off by some of the technical jargon you may have heard before or read about. It is suggested that those of you who are beginners book in for the 10- 1 workshop, too much information in one go can be daunting !

During the repotting season ( end of February - end of April ) There are mini workshops to show you how to repot your tree. This year they are run on Sat. 17th, Sat. 24th.and Sat. 31st. Each Saturday there are 2 sessions, 10am.- 12 and 1.30pm - 3.30pm. There will be a demonstration as to how to repot and the reasons why we do this. At the end of the demo all the products you need will be on sale, and you will get a leaflet detailing the procedure.  You are advised to bring your tree ( trees) along to the session so Charlotte can give your tree a general health check. The cost of this mini workshop is £5.
