INTRODUCTION

Tokonoma Bonsai was established over 35 years ago. It was one of the first bonsai nurseries of its kind in Europe and pioneered the way for many bonsai enthusiasts to gain better insight and knowledge of this once mysterious art form. As bonsai trees gradually become more popular and familiar to people, Tokonoma expanded to promote the art of bonsai throughout the U.K. and Europe. Gold medals were won at many European Flower Shows in recognition of this oriental form of horticulture. Today Tokonoma limits itself to exhibiting at the Chelsea Flower show and the Hampton Court Palace Flower Show winning gold medals and great acclaim for the specimen bonsai and penjing displayed.

The nursery imports approximately 100,000 trees per year from China, Japan, Korea and Israel as well as pots, tools and many bonsai related accessories. Tokonoma offers a great retail and after sales service. Over 300 garden centres across the U.K. take full advantage of the extensive service offered to the trade. Promotional contracts are dealt with swiftly and efficiently regardless of the amounts ( from 10 to 1000 + bonsai can be sent out at any one time). Wholesalers can spend hours browsing through the trees; both indoor and outdoor bonsai are in abundance, you are spoilt for choice.

All staff at Tokonoma has extensive knowledge in their own field and have been with the company for many years. Even after 35 years Tokonoma Bonsai still strives to promote bonsai trees to the best of their ability, and to ensure that the art of bonsai is kept paramount in peoples minds as a relaxing and stimulating part of horticulture.
